| who we are We are wine lovers. We are also foodies. Some of us have worked harvest in France or California; some of us have worked in kitchens or on bottling lines. All of us have listened to the voices in our heads that said "work is good, but working with wine is better". Initially, Candid Wines was the result of a partnership between Scott Kerrigan and Damien Casten. While working in other industries, they both dedicated sections of their basements to wine, only to be horrified at how quickly more space was needed. Their personal collections lean towards traditionally styled wines that work well with food, and both have a penchant for naturally made wines. Connor O'Rourke joined Candid in 2007 and rapidly become an integral part of the team. Connor has come to wine in much the same way as his partners: he travelled extensively, ate well, had some interesting corporate jobs, but just couldn't find a happier way to earn a living. Mike Kissel and Ted Howard head up our sales efforts. They are consumate professionals who know have crafted wine lists, travelled extensively, and made many customers happy during their years of work in the wine business. |
| Ask a winemaker: One of our favorite things about this industry is the chance to ask winemakers questions about the myriad details that go into a great wine experience. Our "Ask a Winemaker" video project shares the knowledge with fellow wine lovers everywhere. The video below was shot by Connor O'Rourke on his 2008 trip to California when he helped Fred Scherrer bottle a number of new vintages. |
